Founded in 2011, Holomic LLC is dedicated to improving patient healthcare in areas that lack sophisticated diagnostic equipment with the use of smartphones and biophotonics.
Dr. Ozcan and his colleagues from the UCLA developed a compact and cost-effective rapid- diagnostic-test (RDT) reader platform to combine digital reading of all existing RDTs. The reader is installed on a cell phone that can work with various lateral flow immuno-chromato- graphic assays and similar tests to sense the presence of a target analyte in samples.
The first product is a suite of rapid diagnostic test readers for advancing diagnostic accuracy and access: Dual Test Reader (HRDR-400), Fluorescent Reader (HRDR-300), and Rapid Test Reader (HRDR-200). All readers are available for sale globally; however, in the US they are available for research use only, not for use in diagnostic procedures.

Dr. Ozcan holds 30 issued patents (all licensed) and more than 20 pending patent applica- tions for his inventions in nanoscopy, wide-field imaging, lensless imaging, nonlinear optics, fiber optics, and optical coherence tomography. He was selected as one of the top 10 innovators by the U.S. Department of State, USAID, NASA, and NIKE as part of the LAUNCH: Health Forum organized in 2010.
